Pakistan faces significant healthcare challenges, with a large population and inadequate health coverage in rural and semi-urban areas. To address this, the Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with WHO and other partners, is introducing the Family Practice Model. Our 1-year Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine (PGDFM) program is designed to train general practitioners to become family physicians, providing quality healthcare services close to where people live.

Course Overview

Our Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine (PGDFM) program aims to introduce doctors to the family physicians approach in primary healthcare, aligned with international standards. This bridging course enhances the knowledge and skills of general practitioners, enabling them to provide better patient care and improve health indicators.

  • Promote, prevent, and treat a set group of population at the primary healthcare level

Our program covers six modules:

  1. Principles of Family Medicine and Introduction to Public Health
  2. Non-Communicable and common chronic diseases
  3. Common Presentations and Emergencies in General Practice
  4. Common Complaints and Care of Old people
  5. Women’s and Men’s Health
  6. Maternal and Child Health

The total cost of the one-year Postgraduate diploma program is Rs. 120,000, which can be paid in full or in Two Instalments.

  • Semester 1 Clinical Audit (1-5 days)
